The dish that people expect and look forward to when they come round to your place for dinner.
<!– –><!– –>
The first thing that came to Izzy’s mind when thinking of a bucket list dish was her dad’s bread. It’s one of those things that has always been around as she’s grown up. He’s a chef and bread is something that he’s always made. Izzy has grown up with the smell of fresh bread in the house and even remembers being snowed in and her dad cooking bread for weeks until the shops got stock back in.
<!– –><!– –>
Her family is very social. They always have people over rather than going out and always put on a proper spread, especially in the summer when the weather is good enough for barbecues. The bread is always the centrepiece of the table. They leave it on a board and let people cut bits off as they go. It’s so moreish that people are always back and forth to the table to pick up more. Now people expect her dad’s focaccia when they come over.
<!– –><!– –>
The family doesn’t just have bread for barbecues, it’s perfect for another of Izzy’s favourite family dishes… chicken noodle soup. If she’s not having it with a meal she loves to dip it into some salty olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It’s really one of the most simple and best ways to enjoy fresh bread.
<!– –><!– –>
Focaccia is also an amazing bread to make; because it’s baked in the tin you can get away with a really wet and sticky dough, which means you end up with the lightest, fluffiest bread, not to mention excessive amounts of olive oil and flaky sea salt. Izzy’s dad adds sweet and tangy Peppadew peppers to make it even more of a treat.
<!– –><!– –>
<!– –>
<!– –>
<!– –>
<!– –><!– –>[/wcm_restrict]
