Everyone loves a podcast, right? Even better if it’s a podcast all around food. They’re a great way to immerse yourself in everything foodie, be that trends, debates or insider info from the best in the industry. And you can listen to them while you’re cooking up a meal! The ultimate way to boost your food lifestyle.
We’ve put together our own list of the Top Ten Foodie Podcasts we can’t get enough of. Why not check ‘em out now? And if you’ve got any others to recommend, let us know!
1. Off Menu
Food meets comedy in this podcast from British comedians James Acaster and Ed Gamble. Guests are invited into their magical restaurant to choose their dream menu, consisting of a starter, main, side, dessert and drink. James Acaster is a genie and they have guests ranging from Louis Theroux to Teri Hatcher to Ovie Soko. What’s not to like?!
2. The Sporkful
This US podcast claims ‘It’s not for foodies, it’s for eaters’ – something we can totally get on board with! Host Dan Pashman digs into a wide range of topics with one goal: to learn about people through food. Which is probably the best way to learn.
A bit of an educational one for you! Recommended by our resident chef Ebbers, Gastropod looks at food from a science and history perspective – and it’s pretty fascinating stuff. Hosts Cynthia Graber and Nicola Twilley discuss everything from garlic to climate change as they try to understand the world through food.
‘Joyous crap chat’ according to their Twitter – and we’ve always got time for that. Restaurateurs James Ramsden and Sam Herlihy chat food and modern gastronomy amongst themselves and with other key figures from the industry. The podcast wrapped in 2020, but it’s a good one to catch up on if you sometimes find the world of food just a bit confusing…
Racist Sandwich offers a slightly different perspective on food, and we’re here for it. On the podcast hosts Stephanie Kuo and Juan Diego Ramirez delve into the relationship between class, race and gender and the food industry in the US. A super interesting look at the links between food and politics.
There are some dishes that just seem to stick in our memories. Chef and food writer Margie Nomura knows this, and on the podcast she talks to her guests about the dishes that stick in their memories. But it’s not just about the food, as they open up and reveal their secrets. Guests include Romy Gill, Stanley Tucci and Ainsley Harriot.
How could we not include our own podcast?! The SORTEDfood podcast, hosted by Mike Huttlestone and featuring various combinations of our chefs and normals, debates new food trends and the latest topics in the industry with a healthy dose of humour and general silliness.
A cracking podcast from the BBC, The Food Programme aims to ‘investigate every aspect of the food we eat.’ From tea to the food of James Bond, there’s something for everyone. Definitely worth a listen!
Hosts Niki Webster and Bettina Campolucci Bordi chat about all sorts, from delicious recipes to sustainability to plant-based diets on their podcast What the Focaccia?! They’re got plenty of fab guests too, including Gizzi Erskine and a voice we recognise… it’s Ebbers!
10. Food For Thought
If you’re into nutrition, this one’s for you. Host Rhiannon Lambert is on a mission to simplify wellness and bust those pesky myths about healthy eating with cold hard facts. Tune in to learn what’s what!
