Sometimes it’s that simple – the one dish that you’d choose to eat above anything else. It's his dad's spoof-y, fusion-y jambalaya – a random invention that's Reece’s ultimate comfort dish. Make sure that your bucket list has some room for fun and crazy experimentation… that's what getting into the kitchen is all about.
<!– –><!– –>
The dish is special because it's become his dad's speciality. Reece requests it every time he sees him. He knows how to make it himself too, and admits that the only weak point of the dish might be its looks. It's a big one-pot full of rice, sauce, chicken, mushrooms, chorizo, onions and peppers. It's kind of hard to make it look nice but it’s easy to cook and absolutely delicious.
<!– –><!– –>
Reece says that his dad just felt creative one random night, came back with a bag of ingredients and cooked up a brand new (soon to be favourite) dish for Reece and his brother. He doesn’t even remember the first time they had it because now they eat it All. The. Time. He can't stress enough how much of a comfort food dish this is and always takes a double helping when it’s on the menu.
<!– –><!– –>
The ‘Not' Jambalaya is his go-to recipe when he’s got a bit more money to spend on student food. He even cooked it a few months into his first real relationship and 4 years later his girlfriend still asks for it anytime he offers to cook a romantic meal.
<!– –><!– –>
Often, favourites are not to be messed about with, but Reece reckons some additional garlic, fresh parsley and an upgrade on presentation would take this to the next level. It’s all been incorporated into the recipe.
<!– –><!– –>
Most importantly, he says that his dad will be chuffed if he gets a published recipe.
<!– –><!– –>
<!– –>
<!– –>
<!– –>
<!– –><!– –>[/wcm_restrict]
