There’s no denying that this year has been hard. But there were also a few silver linings... from sourdough starters to katsu curry, people were cooking more than ever before, which we reckon can only be a good thing! Especially as so many of you did your cooking with our Meal Packs app...A big thank you from us for choosing Meal Packs this year, and for sharing all your tasty twists on our meals. So what were the top Meal Packs of 2020? If you’ve been with us this year, here’s what you picked the most! And if you’ve just joined us, here are a few of the incredible things you can look forward to.10. Sharing is CaringWe got on the sharing plate bandwagon with Sharing is Caring, and you joined us! This is a great one for entertaining, or even for just doing something a little different when entertaining isn’t allowed… The build-your-own elote tacos are a really fun way of getting everyone involved - but no fighting please!“One of our new faves, easy to follow and absolutely delicious. I can't believe I was able to prepare a mezze platter in just half an hour!”9. International ChallengeYou loved this Meal Pack with a difference - International Challenge gets you making spaetzle, gnocchi and flatbreads from scratch. And you were giving us lots of your twists too! Try swapping the sour cream in the gnocchi for double cream and a little lemon juice for an incredible (but slightly more indulgent) twist.8. Holiday HitsThis seasonal Meal Pack really got you going, whether or not you were celebrating Thanksgiving! You cooked up a dreamy combo of turkey meatloaf, a stuffing-style tray bake and pumpkin spiced hasselback squash. Definitely something to be thankful for.“The turkey meatloaf and stuffing traybake were honestly 2 of the best meals we’ve ever made... So easy to make, cheap ingredients and easy to access in the shops. Great portions.” 7. GamechangerLots of you upped your cooking game this year with this Meal Pack. The dishes are perfect for honing your sauce-making skills, and they also taste downright delicious! There’s a nutty satay with chicken, a creamy Mediterranean aioli with fish and a smoky chutney with eggs. Once you’ve nailed the sauces, why not use them in other dishes too?“Satay chicken was probably one of the tastiest things I ever made.”“Loved this pack, fun and interesting to cook and all the dishes were hits with both the adults and kids. I think this may be my favorite pack so far.”6. Autumn WarmthThis Meal Pack got you feeling all warm and fuzzy this autumn. It’s a great one for eating well on a budget and cutting down on your food waste too - you make roast chicken and then use the leftovers in a delicious risotto. There’s also a lentil salad to round up the balanced trio!“My first pack - LOVE the recipes and particularly that it gave 3, varied meals with zero waste! So good!”5. Kids’ ClassicsThe ideal Meal Pack for cooking with your kids. We made it super simple to cook this one with your little chefs, with fish fingers, chicken alfredo and eggy bread all on the menu. Though we’d encourage any of you to relive your childhood and whip them up for yourself!4. ThrowbackThrowback is a great option if you’re cooking for 1 - it’s a trio of quick cooks that pack a flavourful punch. Our fave twists from you? Switch up the veggies in the tomato + basil risotto and the chicken ‘instant’ noodles to use up what you’ve got in the fridge. And if you want to make it veggie, Taylor S. suggests subbing the chicken for tofu!“All around excellent results, excellent process, best week of homemade meals I've ever made, and I'm genuinely a half-decent home cook. Definitely will keep using.”“Everything was so tasty and easy! I work 10 hour days and I still feel able to have a nice home cooked meal with the [Meal] Packs app.”3. Treat YourselfEverybody loves a bit of indulgence every now and then, and this is the ultimate indulgent Meal Pack when you’re in the mood for it. Treat Yourself has you whipping up fast food favourites for a fraction of the price. Pulled chicken nachos? Check. Buttermilk chicken drumsticks? Check. Flatbread pizza? Check! We can see why you like it.“Fun to cook and delicious to eat. Perfect pack for a weekend... Just don't tell my gym instructor.”2. Winter Bangers Simple but effective, this Meal Pack delivers the comfort in 3 hearty one-pots. The spicy sausage stew is an absolute hero when it’s cold outside! Your top tips? A lot of you were adding chilli flakes to the pasta alla Norma, and Paul C. suggested popping in a bit of mascarpone for extra flavour.“Tiny shopping list, Great food for little effort and money! Would never think to do any of those given those ingredients.”And now for the most cooked Meal Pack of all...1. More For LessYep, More For Less was your most popular Meal Pack this year! You were loving the budget vibes of this one - it was the first time we’d ever released a Meal Pack with 5 meals in it, taking you all the way through to the weekend. And with everything from chilli to tacos to meatballs on the menu, there was loads of delicious variety.“All the recipes were delicious and even pushed me out of my comfort zone to try new ideas and they turned out great! Would definitely recommend”“Love the value and the menu ideas!... Thanks for taking the hard work off my plate!”Check out your Meal Packs app for all these and a ton more incredible dishes. There’s lots more to come and we can’t wait to share it with you.Not part of the hype yet?
