Recipe: Scotch Creme Egg

We had to get on this internet craze because that's kinda what we do. Thing is... You can't not deep fry a Scotch Egg, so we did and got crispy flakes, warm cake and gooey creme egg. More delicious than any Scotch Creme Egg recipe out there. Also, don't use a readymade cake.. Use this recipe:

  • 1 sheet chocolate sponge cake (recipe above)
  • 1 shot espresso
  • 100 g icing sugar
  • 5 creme eggs
  • 2 l vegetable oil
  • 1 bowl flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 bowls sweet cornflakes
Break up the sponge

Step 4

Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat well. Roughly bash up the cornflakes in a bag or food processor, then tip them into a bowl. Coat the cake balls in flour, then egg and then cornflakes. Coat the balls in the egg mixture again, then back into the cornflake mixture.
