Recipe: Marshmallow Popcorn Bars
If you struggle to decide what to eat when watching a film then let us solve your problem for you! Why not bung them all into one amazing morsel! popcorn, pretzels, chocolate and even marshmallows! Whether you wrap these up as a gift for a friend or loved one or munch on them with mates during a movie night... they are a definite win!
- 75 g popcorn kernels
- 1 shot sunflower oil
- 250 g white marshmallows
- 75 g butter
- 185 g M&M's
- 75 g salted pretzels
Heat The Oil
Heat the oil up in a large saucepan with a lid and toss the popcorn kernels in to coat themselves in the oil.
Cover with a lid and heat until the kernels start to pop, shake the pan occasionally.
Heat until nearly all of the kernels have exploded, then leave to one side to cool slightly.
Melt The Marshmallows
Melt the butter in another pan and dump in the marshmallows.
Stir the marshmallow mixture over a gentle heat until they have completely melted.
Leave the hot marshmallow mixture to one side for a few minutes to cool slightly, but not set.
Add M&ms And Pretzels
Snap the pretzels into smaller pieces.
Scoop all of the popped kernels in to a bowl along with the M&Ms & snapped pretzels.
Pour Marshmallow Mixture
Pour the marshmallow mixture over the top and mix quickly to coat everything.
Transfer to a square silicon mould (20cm x 20cm), press down to compress and leave to set for 2 hours.
Cut into bars of whatever size you prefer and gift wrap as presents or tuck into with mates!
