Recipe: Level Up Grilled Cheese
Everyone in life just needs to be better. That's why we're helping you achieve the perfect grilled cheese with a couple of nifty tricks. One of them being by using honey!
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 50 g runny honey
- 2 sprigs thyme
- 50 g cheddar cheese
- 50 g parmesan
- 50 g grated pizza mozzarella (the dry stuff)
Prepare The Bread
Melt the butter and stir in the smoked paprika.
Slice the bread into thick slices.
Spread the butter over one side of each slice of bread.
Drizzle over the honey and spread it over the same side of each slice, then scatter over the thyme leaves.
Pile On The Cheese
Grate the cheddar and Parmesan.
Arrange a mix of all 3 cheeses on the buttered and honeyed side of a slice of bread, so that it covers the whole thing.
Top with another slice, buttered side inside.
Spread the butter, honey and thyme over the top of the sandwich.
Heat a frying pan over a medium-high heat.
Place the sandwich, buttered side down, onto the frying pan.
Press the sandwich down firmly, flattening it a little, then cook for 2 minutes, until a deep golden brown on the bottom.
Finish And Serve
Spread the butter, honey and thyme over the now-face-up side, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes on the other side.
Slice in half and serve immediately whilst piping hot for the best stringy cheese!
Makes 1 big sandwich between 2, or 2 smaller sandwiches
