Recipe: Ginger Ale And Apple Crush


Having a BBQ or picnic this weekend? Don't forget to pack your punch! This is our homemade ginger ale (the quick cheat's version) transformed into an awesome icy drink.


  • 150 ml water
  • 1 lime
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp root ginger
  • 1 handful ice cubes
  • 1 l fresh apple juice
  • 150 g caster sugar
  • 1 l soda water
  • 1 bunch mint
make the syrup

Step 1

Make The Syrup

Heat the water and sugar in a pan, along with the cinnamon stick and the peel of a lime, to dissolve the sugar. Bubble for a minute or so then remove from the heat.

Infuse The Ginger

Allow to cool slightly before added to the grated ginger, leave the mixture to infuse. Strain through a fine sieve to give you an awesome ginger syrup.

Add Soda & Mint

Dilute the syrup with ice cold soda water and stir in a handful of fresh mint leaves.

Add Apple Juice

Squeeze plenty of fresh tangy juice from a handful of apples. crush some ice. Fill a glass up about 1/3 of the way with the crushed ice.


Step 5


Add one third apple juice and one third ginger ale. Stir one and serve immediately.
