- 1 tbsp corn flour
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 125 g dark chocolate
- 200 ml cream
- 225 g plain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 70 g caster sugar
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 330 ml whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 butter
Separate The Eggs
Separate the eggs and set aside the whites in a clean bowl.
Make The Batter
Combine the egg yolks, milk and vanilla extract.
Mix together the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
Whisk the wet ingredients into the dry.
Fold In The Egg Whites
Whisk the egg whites to medium peaks and gently fold through the batter.
Spoon Batter Into The Pan
Heat a griddle pan to a medium high temperature and chuck in the butter.
Spoon in the batter to the desired shape or to fill the groves of a griddle pan.
Cook And Flip The Waffles
Fry until the waffle just begins to cook around the edges and the bottom is crisp and golden... usually about 2 minutes.
Flip the waffle and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until both sides are golden.
Prepare The Hot Chocolate
Pour the milk into a pan, chuck in the cinnamon stick and heat until almost boiling.
Mix the icing sugar, cocoa powder, cornflour and ground cinnamon. Whisk this into the milk.
Grate the chocolate.
Stir Choccy Into The Milk!
Tip the chocolate into the milk and stir it in until everything is melted into the mix.
Keep the hot chocolate warm.
Relax And Enjoy!
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and serve alongside the waffles.
Serve and enjoy with friends.
