Recipe: Coco Pop Frappe

By using the milk leftover from a bowl of Coco Pops we’ve conjured up this amazing frappé! Inspired by flavours from a Mexican Horchata, like cinnamon & peanut, it’s the perfect sweet treat if you’re looking for something a little bit different.

For The Horchata

  • 150 g coco pops
  • 50 g roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon zest
  • 450 ml whole milk
  • 250 ml water
  • 250 g ice to fill 4 glasses

To Finish

  • 100 ml whole milk
  • 20 g coco pops
  • 1 tbsp honey

Step 1

Add all of the ingredients aside from the ice into a large mixing bowl. Stir everything together and leave to steep in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Blitz and Strain

Step 2

Blitz And Strain

Remove the mixture from the fridge and blitz the mixture in a blender until as smooth as possible. Strain through a fine sieve to get a smooth drink.

Finish the Drink

Step 3

Finish The Drink

Add the remaining 100ml of milk to thin out the mix. If you want to, bash up some coco pops in a shallow bowl. Roll the rims of your glasses in honey, then dip them into the cereal dust.

Pour and Serve

Step 4

Pour And Serve

Fill the prepared glasses with ice, pour over the ‘horchata’ and enjoy! Makes 4 glasses
