Recipe: Churros


Deep fryer required! Serve with chocolate sauce and voila you're basically in Spain - no need to proof dough so it's quick and easy :)


  • 125 g plain flour
  • ¼ tsp vanilla essence
  • 25 ml melted butter
  • oil
  • 175 ml hot water
  • cinnamon sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Step 1

Sift flour and and baking powder in a large bowl. Add vanilla and melted butter to hot water. Make a well in your flour mix and quickly beat in the liquids. Allow to rest for 15 mins.

Step 2

Place into a piping bag with a star nozzle and pipe a few cm into deep fryer and snip off dough with scissors. Fry for a few minutes until golden and roll in cinnamon sugar while still warm :) enjoy!
