This was always a favorite growing up. A biscuit bottom topped with sausage, eggs and cheddar cheese, all smothered in country gravy.
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- ⅔ cup milk
- 3 tbsp flour
- ⅓ cup oil
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Brown sausage. Drain into a bowl, saving sausage fat/grease and the pan.
Mix together your baking powder, 2 cups of flour,1 tsp salt, sugar, oil and 2/3 cup milk and stir until combined.
Putting It Together
Press mixture into a greased 9x9 pan, covering entire bottom. Layer browned sausage meat on top. In a separate bowl crack and scramble 6 eggs, add salt and pepper to taste. Pour eggs over sausage. Top with a generous handful of cheddar cheese.
Put in oven and bake until golden (about 45 mins)
Pour sausage fat/grease back into the pan and stir in remaining flour. Once combined slowly add the rest of the milk and simmer until gravy has thickened (should coat your spoon). Add salt and pepper to taste.
Once the "pizza" is golden, remove from oven. Slice and serve topped with plenty of gravy. Enjoy
