Recipe: Baked Doughnuts


As promised, a doughnut recipe. These are quick, easy-to-make, no frying cheat doughnuts, but they are still delicious.


  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 300 g caster sugar
  • 2 tsp bakning powder
  • 300 ml milk
  • 250 g flour
Preheat oven

to 175 C.

Combine the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another bowl. Pour the liquid into the flour mixture and whisk until you have a smooth batter.

Carefully butter and flour the doughnut pan (or use cooking spray). Pour the batter into the pan, abou halfway up. Bake fot about 15 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

When done, allow the doughnuts to cool fot a few minutes then tap them out of the pan. Melt a kniv of butter and dip them in first butter then sugar, one side at a time. (I put some cinnamon in the sugar as well.)

Combine some icing sugar and water and ice them, or leave as is. Either way they are delicious. Enjoy!
