Recipe: Christmas Leftover Stew

CHRISTMAS LEFTOVER STEW

saving the pennies after christmas use the things you would usually throw away!

Ingredients

  • 1 Turkey carcass
  • leftover root vegetables from christmas
  • Enough stock to cover (or leftover gravy with added water)
  • 1 Can Sweetcorn
  • 1 Tea mug Pearl barley
  • large carrot, onion and 2 celery sticks. (chunks)
  • Bay leaf

Step 1

Throw It All In

Put everything in a slow cooker or in a pot on the hob in a large pot, add your stock (or gravy) and cover with enough water to submerge the carcass.

Step 2

Time Is The Key

You must let it boil for at least 3 hours on low with a lid on. or all day in the slow cooker. simple but delicious and not too rich!
