Recipe: Healthy Smoothie Ice Lollies
A great healthy snack on a summers day, tasty treats for the whole family to enjoy!
- Icing Sugar
- 1 Banana
- Low-Fat Yogurt
Cut and blend strawberries then sieve through to reduce amount of seeds or lumps.
Add cream to the blended strawberries using a table spoon, the amount that you add here is completely up to you. The less you add the more strawberry flavour there will be. I advise a light pink colour.
Add the icing sugar in now, you can add honey if you don't have icing sugar. The amount, again, is up to you. Do a taste test every so often to get it to right flavouring and remember that you will need to go just over the sweetness you like because it can loose sweetness in the freezer.
Then pour into a jug in order to have a easy pour when putting it into the moulds.
Pour the mixture into the moulds, fill to the top. Filling to the top is fine with yogurt based lollies because the yogurt doesn't expand.
Repeat the process that you used for the strawberries but with bananas.
Once both moulds are full they will need to go in the freezer for minimum 4 hours.
When you want to get them out it is easier if you run them under warm water and it will release them easier.
