Recipe: Healthy Cucumber Smoothie


Cucumbers are a brilliant base to a smoothie as they are mostly water, but also incredibly refreshing. As a base they are spot on to add loads of other bits to. This raw smoothie is vibrant, sweet and seriously refreshing.


  • 2 handfuls ice
  • 100 ml cold water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 squeeze honey
  • 1 handful baby leaf spinach
  • 1 tbsp flax oil
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 ripe pears
  • 1 pinch salt

Step 1

Prep The Fruit & Veg

Wash the spinach, pears and cucumber in cold water. Chop the ends off of the cucumber and roughly hack it up. Quarter and de-core the pears.


Step 2


Place the water and cucumber into the blender or juicer and blitz until you have a thin smoothie. Add all the other ingredients and blitz until it’s as smooth as it’ll go.

pour over ice & serve

Step 3

Pour Over Ice & Serve

Drop a couple of ice cubes into a glass and pour your smoothie over. Serve immediately, or bung it in a flask to drink on the go. Makes 4
