If pizza is your guilty pleasure, you have to try our blooming pizza bread recipe. It's filled with all of your favorite pizza ingredients and topped with some essential honey and chili flakes. It's so delicious Barry said he'd leave his wife for it...
- 1 large white bloomer
- 300 ml good quality tomato sauce
- 75 g pepperoni
- 75 g ham
- 150 g cheddar cheese
- 150 g pizza mozzarella (the drier stuff)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 1 handful sliced jarred jalapenos
- 2 sprigs fresh basil
Preheat The Oven
Preheat an oven to 180ºC.
Slice And Sauce
Slice the bread into a checkerboard style both lengthways and widthways but don’t cut all the way through the bottom.
Remove some of the resulting squares of bread to give more room for fillings.
Spoon a generous amount of tomato sauce into and around all the slices and all over the top of the bread.
Add Toppings And Bake
Grate the cheddar and mozzarella. Stuff half of it around all of the slices, packing in extra in the holes left by removing some of the squares.
Press the pepperoni slices and the ham in too.
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
Finish And Serve
Pour the honey and water into a small saucepan and heat, stirring until well combined. Add the chilli flakes and simmer for 1 minute.
Grab the loaf, scatter over the jalapeño peppers, drop over some fresh basil and drizzle your honey chilli mix over the top… then serve it up right away!
Makes 1 loaf.
