Recipe: Cheesy Mice


If you think a cheese board after a meal is a bit too mature for you then have a go at our little mice. They make a variety of cheeses more playful and are perfect for packed lunch too.


  • 150 g full fat cream cheese
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 gelatine leaf
  • 1 bulb garlic, roasted
  • 1 sprig rosemary
  • 1 chunk parmesan (20g)
  • 2 slices cooked ham
  • 1 chunk blue cheese (20g)
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 20 g goats cheese

Step 1

Soak The Gelatin

Soak the gelatin leaf in cold water for a couple of minutes.

Grate The Parmesan

Grate the Parmesan and mix with very finely chopped rosemary and garlic, then move to one side on a board.

Mash the blue cheese up on a board and mix with very finely chopped ham, then again move to one side.

squeeze the honey over the goats cheese and stir together with the poppy seeds.

Heat Milk

Heat the milk in a small pan. Add the soaked gelatin leaf without too much added water and whisk to dissolve.


Step 6


Divide the cream cheese into 3 and add one of the cheese flavours into each. Mix them all thoroughly before dividing into the mouse silicon moulds. If you don’t have these you can set the cheeses in anything you like.

Freeze for 45 minutes before turning the mice out onto your serving cheese board and chilling for another hour.

Give the mice ears, eyes, whiskers and tails using herbs, ham and coriander seeds and serve beside cheese crackers, chutney and celery. Makes 9 mice
