How To Eat Veg Without Feeling Like You’re Eating Veg

Ok, so we all know about clean living, eating raw and the recent vegan trends. But what if you’re someone who just doesn’t really like vegetables? Most of us want to be healthy and there’s no denying that upping your veg game is one way of doing that. When you don’t really like vegetables and someone asks if you want peas with your fish and chips, all you can think is why on earth would you want to contaminate your meal with green explosions of yuck?! Yeah, I don’t like peas. So, because we can’t eat beige food all the time, here’s some way to look like you don’t have the diet of a 5-year-old…

Smoothie

BLEND IT BABY

Now this is a bit of an obvious one, but blended stuff is one heck of a lot easier to eat/drink than regular sized food. Plus, if you blend your fruit and veg into smoothies, you can also blend in yummy stuff like honey and peanut butter. When you walk into work with your green smoothie, no one has to know you’re actually eating the equivalent of a blended PB&J.

GET SAUCY

Sauces are a great opportunity to include a tonne of vegetables without having to look at vegetables. Next time you are making a tomato sauce, when you are sweating down the onions at the start, finely chop some carrots, courgette and anything else you’ve got hanging around. If you cook it all through with the onions, they will go really soft and super sweet, and might actually *deep breath* make your sauce taste better…

IT’S BURGER TIME

Burgers are amazing, that’s a fact. You’ve already got your lettuce, tomato and gherkin in your burger so they are pretty healthy already… (sort of). If we want to step things up a notch when you are making your patty, add in some sweet corn and chickpeas, then when you’re putting the bun together add in a grilled portobello mushroom and boom you’ve just made the best burger ever.
