If you’ve got some time on your hands over the weekend and fancy creating something exceptional than this post is for you!
We’re really feeling meat at the moment and there’s no better way to celebrate an amazing joint than by slow cooking it.
The following recipes from food blogs around the world include pork, chicken, beef, duck and lamb. And whilst we’re on the topic of slow cooking… there’s a major surprise in the last one here! Don’t panic if you don’t have a slow cooker. A casserole dish in an oven will do just fine too.
1. SPICED PULLED BRISKET IN A MILK BUN
Elly calls this ‘man food’ and we get why. Rich, succulent, spicy beef and creamy coleslaw all packed into a fluffy butter milk bun. It’s sloppy, messy and oh so good.
2. 6 HOUR SLOW ROASTED BBQ PORK WITH KALE SLAW
Pulled pork like you’ve never seen before. Quinoa wraps and kale slaw make for a different take on this traditional concept. There is also cheese involved. Total perfection.
3. SLOW COOKER CHICKEN WINGS
This recipe has the nice added touch of popping the beer and barbecue slathered wings in the oven just before serving to allow them to crisp up. No meat feast would be a meat feast without some epic chicken wings.
4. SLOW COOKED BEEF CHEEKS IN RED WINE
This is an awesome winter dish to impress. Red wine is used in the process and the sauce reduces to a velvety, seductive mess which houses the tender meat beautifully.
5. STICKY AND SLOW COOKED PINEAPPLE AND TAMARIND PORK SPARE RIBS
Every list of slow cooked meat recipes demands spare ribs. It wouldn’t be right without them. These ones have a sweet asian flavour and the marinade candies into an insane sticky glaze. Best served with rice for a feast.
6. SLOW COOKER BACON WRAPPED PORK LOIN
Pork on pork!! (Don’t tell Jamie, he’ll freak out.) It’s so simple and unbelievable. Get your hands on a boneless pork loin and 6 rashers of bacon to get started. There’ll be an explosion of Oink.
7. GOSHT BURBARI (LAMB CURRY SLOW COOKED)
There had to be a curry in here somewhere. For this recipe, lamb on the bone is recommended because it gives so much flavour to the dish. Unlike most of the other recipes, it doesn’t take too long to make either!
8. SLOW COOKER CHOCOLATE CAKE
So you’ve had all that meat. You need desert! This chocolate cake is made in a slow cooker. Mind blown. We don’t think we’ve seen it happen before so we had to share the recipe. It looks fudgey, dark and incredibly moreish. Janel mentions that this cake is ideal for making ice cream sundaes.
If you could see me, you will see that I have been turned into an emoji. My eyes have been replaced with love hearts.
If you close your eyes and take a big whiff you can almost imagine the smell of all of that meat slow cooking. If you’re looking for more meat recipes that don’t need to be slow cooked then look no further. Get your meat on here.
