We’re so Pinterest right now…
Life hacks are all about making your life easier. This one won’t, but it will make it prettier! These days you can buy edible flowers all over the place but failing that, most supermarkets sell beautiful dried flowers in the baking sections. Freeze them up into ice cubes, add to drinks and voila. Beeeyoootiful.
There’s no denying that homemade stock is a real treat and will definitely make your food taste amazing. Stock isn’t really one of those things that you can make is small portions. Next time you’re making a giant pot of stock, use what you need and then freeze the rest! That way next time you need some stock to add to your cooking, you can pop into the freeze and grab how ever many portions that you need! We’ve done ours in lego moulds. Everything’s more fun if it’s lego.
Next time you’re making a cocktail, say a mojito, you’re gonna need ice and you’re gonna need mint, why not combine the two? It might take longer to make and be way more fiddly but hey, no one ever got famous on Pinterest by doing things the easy way.
4. TUTTI FRUITY
Say you’re serving up a big load of lemonade at a Summer party. Adding ice is great, but adding lemon and lime ice is better! Adding fruit to the ice not only makes the whole set up more beautiful but also tells your guests what is in the drink! It’s like at most aesthetically pleasing sticky label ever.
5. OOOO TANGY
If you don’t fancy the lemon and lime situation any small fruit will work. Better still, when the ice cube has melted you’re left with fruity nuggets to eat, bonus!
We’ve all been there. You’re having a lovely glass of wine in the sunshine but before you know it you’re drinking a warm version of wine that you didn’t sign up for. You could pop an ice cube in it but then you’d have diluted wine. No one wants diluted wine. Solution: freeze some grapes! The frozen grapes will keep your drink refreshingly cool while keeping your wine as strong as you need/want it to be.
Also, if you happen to be sharing an office with Ben, don’t be afraid to dive head first into his collection of silicone bakeware molds. That’s just part of the fun!
