Who needs overpriced cosmetics when you can paste guac on your face?
So the other day I got slightly sidetracked on Pinterest, again… Edible face masks are a thing now apparently! Seeing as we had the SORTEDfood kitchen at our disposal this week, what better way to spend a Wednesday evening than making facemasks and having a girls night in! I have uploaded the recipes to each facemask to my SORTEDfood profile so feel free to try them out for yourself. Believe me, they were a lot cheaper than anything you’ll get on the high street!
1. AVO FOR DAYZ
This face mask is is the creamiest one we tried and feels AMAZING on your skin. Also, according to the internet, avocados are full of iron, potassium, copper and magnesium alongside loads of lovely vitamins, so i’m pretty sure it’s not going to do your skin any harm! To make sure it stays on your skin and you get an even coverage, I would recommend blending this to a smooth paste. As you can see from Katie’s face, it was a wild time.
In its simplest form the Oaty face mask is overnight oats for you face. Oats are great anti-inflammatories and the almond milk will help soothe the skin. This one had by far the fewest ingredients. Watch out though, if you leaving it sitting around too long the oats will soak up the milk and form a solid lump. If is does get a little thick, just mix in a little more almond milk and it will loosen right up!
Right, time for some real action. The ground coffee face mask smells in-credible. It’s like the best combination of coffee, chocolate and cinnamon. Sit back, relax and breathe it in… Or re-enact scenes from Mrs. Doubtfire in the fridge, whatever works for you.
Last but not least, the berry face mask. This one has so much fruity goodness, it seems a shame not to eat it. (I did actually make a smoothie bowl with the leftovers but don’t tell anyone). Blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, honey, oats and almond milk? Told you it sounded delicious!
If you want to have as much fun as we were clearly having remember to check out the recipes! If you make our face masks remember to use #sortedfood on Twitter and Instagram so we can see your beautiful faces.
