Party Dips

At SORTED we love a good party... and it goes without saying that whenever we get together with friends we have to include food! So this is a selection of simple but tasty dips (and a few homemade straws) to put out and let people help themselves too. Nothing too fancy, just great finger food for any occasion.

Ingredients

Lime and coriander humous

  • tin of chickpeas, drained
  • glug of extra virgin olive oils
  • clove of garlic
  • juice of two limes
  • handful of fresh coriander
  • plenty of salt and pepper

sun-dried tomato and crab mayo

  • cup of mayonnaise
  • tin of crab meat, drained
  • dollop of sun-dried tomato pesto
  • squeeze of lemon juice
  • few leaves of fresh basil

sour cream, cheese and chive dip

  • cup of sour cream
  • chunk of creamy garlic soft cheese, (like boursin)
  • couple of sprigs of fresh parsley
  • few sprigs of fresh chives
  • squeeze of lemon juice

paprika Straws

  • ready rolled puff pastry
  • sprinkle of paprika
  • 1 egg

Recipe

roll out the puff pastry and brush with beaten egg.
sprinkle over the paprika and a pinch of salt (optional).
cut the pastry sheet into thin strips about 20cm long by 1cm wide and take each strip individually and lay them onto a non-stick baking sheet, giving them 3 twists each.
bake for 15 mins at 200 degrees celcius until puffed and golden.
take each dip one at a time and dump all the ingredients into a blender.
blitz until smooth and transfer to a serving bowl for later.
serve with breadsticks, crisps or chips… party food SORTED!
