Being aware of what you eat is important all year around... but people are increasingly conscious in the lead up the summer holiday months. Everyone wants to look stunning in their summer swim wear, but who wants to give up the great food to get there. Not us that's for sure! So below are three brand new recipes that don't lack on taste but save on calories and fat.
*3 meals for 2 people
Meat and Fish
2 tuna steaks
2 chicken breasts
2 lamb rumps
Fruit and Veg
1 small carrot
1/2 a cucumber
bunch of spring onions
1 small onion
2 red onions
1 red or yellow pepper
thumb-sized chunk of ginger
bulb of garlic
2 red chillies
1 lime
1 mango
1 avocado
fresh coriander
fresh mint
sprig of thyme
Dairy
chunk of feta cheese
Dry Ingredients
a tube of wasabi paste
jar of sun-dried tomato paste
a jar of poppy seeds
a jar of sesame seeds
bottle of soy sauce
bottle of sesame oil (plus extra for pan frying tuna)
2 portions of egg noodles
easy cook brown or wild rice (200g)
packet of green lentils (at least 200g)
small bottle of rum
Check you also have...
splash of olive oil
1 tbsp of brown sugar
1 veg stock cube
couple of dried bay leaves
These recipes are fantastic to be used as and when you like. They are not reliant on each other but can form part of your increasing repertoire of dishes.
