jar of red pesto
bottle of white wine
small jar of mayonnaise
tin of butterbeans, (400g)

a couple of glugs of olive oil
1 stock cube
enough bread in the freezer for 8 slices
4 handfuls of breadcrumbs stashed
If at any time you're getting to the end of a loaf and you know you won't have chance to eat the lot before it grows itself a fur coat... then try one of two things:-
1) Blitz the leftovers up into breadcrumbs, crusts and all. Stash them in sandwich bags and they'll store in the freezer for months. Then you can whip them out and use whenever you need some. The crumbs will defrost in a matter of minutes at room temperature and you'll always have breadcrumbs to hand.
2) Cut the bread into slices, pair them up and wrap in Clingfilm to freeze. Again, the slices will last for ages and although the bread won't be the freshest in the world, they will do just the job for loads of recipes.
And the great thing... the fish crumble pie only needs a little splash of wine... so you and the other 3 hungry mouths that you're feeding can sip at what's left over dinner.
A combination of both of the above means that you'll never need to bin bread again... saving on food waste and money!
