Cake Pops

With Mother's Day just around the corner Mike and Ben finally get around to cooking up and decorating some smart little cake pops... as inspired by Lovelyladycakes last summer. With the help of a handy machine the baking part becomes easy and avoids the messy reforming of crumbs that's more traditional.

Ingredients

  • softened butter (50g)
  • caster sugar (100g)
  • 1 egg
  • drop of vanilla extract
  • plain flour (100g)
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • splash of milk (60ml)

Recipe

switch on the cake pop machine to give it time to heat up.
beat the butter and sugar together until creamy.
crack in the egg and vanilla extract, then stir that through completely.
weigh in the flour and baking powder and fold into the mixture.
finish by stirring in the milk.
spoon the mixture into a piping bag and squeeze approx. a tbsp into each segment of the cake pop machine.
close the lid and cook for 6 minutes.
remove with the prongs and allow to cool before decorating with chocolate or icing of your choice.
