Chocolate Truffles

If you want to say 'I Love You' then there is no better way of doing it than with something you've made yourself. These chocolate truffles look amazing, taste incredible and show that you really care... but best of all, they won't cost you the earth and have the personal touch!

break the chocolate up into a bowl and pour over the cream.
heat in the microwave for a minute until the chocolate starts to melt.
stir until fully melted and the mixture is smooth and silky then mix in the liqueur.
leave in the fridge to set for at least 2 hours.
scrape a teaspoon along the chocolate mixture and then roll the piece between your palms (make sure you have clean hands obviously!)
roll the truffles in the coating of choice and transfer to a greaseproof lined container.
store in a cool, dry place until eaten or wrapped up as a gift.

makes 20

  • dark chocolate (100g)
  • double cream (40ml)
  • liqueur (10ml) - rum, brandy or grand marniere
  • (alcohol is optional – swap for 10ml of cream if preferred)

  • To coat the truffles
  • cocoa powder
  • desiccated coconut
  • chopped pistachios
  • chopped toasted hazelnuts
  • sugar strands
