Now this is how to start every weekend!!!
Wake up to the sound of lapping waves, breathe in the fresh sea air, meet up with your closest mates, drink far too many mamosa’s and tuck into an epic breakfast. True Lads! Ha!
On arrival to Citrus we were confronted by a pretty hefty line with a wait of approximately 25mins, thankfully they had a cocktail bar to keep us occupied. “Man’mosas all round!” cried Mike. A simple but seriously powerful cocktail of Orange Juice, Champagne and a shot of peach Schnapps!
To be honest, ANY food we ordered after these Manmosas was going to taste GREAT!!
Our waitress, Hope, recommended we order off the special board. Now brace yourself, because there is A LOT going into each of these!!
I had the Oscar Benedict – Steak, crab, tomato, spinach, English muffin, 2 poached eggs, hollandaise and jazzy hash browns (potato, onions and cheese).
Jamie (AKA Steak Man) had Country Fried Steak – Breaded flattened steak, gravy, hashbrowns, scrambled egg and 2 slices of sour dough toast.
Ben had Soft Shell Crab Benedict – As chosen and loved by Guy Fieri on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Sweet potato biscuits, spinach, tomato, 2 fried soft shell crabs, 2 poached eggs, hollandaise and more of those jazzy hashbrowns.
…and Mike had Pancakes – Onion, spinach and potato pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, sour dough and maple syrup.
Everything was done well and we fully enjoyed every last bite, but there was so much going on it was just hard to distinguish the flavours. I reckon you could remove 50% of the ingredients, focus on getting them perfect and you’d still have a top quality breakfast everyone will love.
We stumbled away from Citrus tipsy but satisfied! A banging breakfast and a great laugh.
As recommendations go, this is exactly what we needed so thank you Winny and Zainab!
