So what type of hangover have you got?
Waking up on a Saturday or Sunday morning can be tougher than tough if you’ve enjoyed a jolly night out and got slightly more inebriated than you expected. The cure, of course, completely depends on your hangover. What type have you got? A pukey one? A banging headache that won’t relent? That one where you can’t stop shaking?
Whatever it is, we feel your pain. It’s dreadful! There’s sometimes only one thing to do and that’s to get back on it and guess what? A cocktail is the best thing for you (after more sleep and plenty of water, of course). But take heed! Too sickly a cocktail and it’ll make you feel worse.
That’s why these three will sort your right out. And here’s why…
1) BUCKS FIZZ/ MIMOSA
Common ingredients: Orange Juice, Champagne or Prosecco
Served in: A Champagne Flute
If made in the right manner, it can often seem like you’re drinking orange squash. You don’t get that initial shudder often experienced when heading back on the lash and you’ll look uber posh. Watch out though. It’s all too easy to get carried away meaning you’re only postponing your hangover to the day after! Nightmare.
2) THE SILVER FIZZ
Common Ingredients: Soda, Ice, Lemon juice, Gin, Sugar, Egg Whites,
Served in: Anything really. We recommend a jam jar because, you know, edge.
This cocktail is shaken up and served nice and thick, a bit like a milkshake! It’s delicious and contains plenty of protein thanks to the egg white. This can completely revitalise you and prepare you for the day ahead. Perhaps stop at one… it can get sickly.
3) BLOODY MARY
Common Ingredients: Tomato Juice, Lemon Juice, Vodka, Tabasco, Worcester Sauce, Pepper, Celery, Horseradish and plenty of ice.
Served In: A Highball Glass
If the kick from the spicy ingredients doesn’t reboot you, then be assured that the nutrients from the tomato juice will! Because it’s so thick and filling, it will also count as breakfast. Ideal if you can’t yet stomach food.
And if in doubt? Always remember: shots, shots, shots.
