We cook YOUR recipes!
This month, because it’s been so darn warm, we decided to pick our favourite smoothie recipes off SORTEDfood. There’s a massive variety from our community, so it was no easy feat choosing the best ones to make!
We’ve provided our feedback, photos of each one and why we reckon you should get down to making them too. Check ‘em out, we know you’ll LOVE them. The original recipe image is on the left and our re-creation is on the the right.
1. RASPBERRY SMOOTHIE
This raspberry smoothie was probably our favourite of the batch. The frozen berries and the milk combination created a smoothie with a texture like ice cream! Sharp, refreshing and fruity it’s a great way of using up leftover fruit that’s in your fridge. You could even turn this into a smoothie bowl. It’s quite thick so will hold all the toppings. Get the original recipe.
2. GREEN SMOOTHIE
For all you lean machines out there wanting to pick up extra nutrients while looking like a total hipster, this is for you. Spinach and kiwi are the star players. No leaf of kale in sight! The recipe is nice and handy- add water slowly until you reach your perfect consistency. Get the original recipe.
3. MANGO BLASTTIN SMOOTHIE
At first, this looks like carrot juice! Don’t be fooled. This smoothie is irresistible and an easy peasy way to manage your 5 a day. Mango, peach and apricot make this a major celebration of awesome orange fruit. Get the original recipe.
4. PISTACHIO AND BANANA
Pistachio and thick, creamy yogurt is a great idea to pick up a standard banana smoothie. You can obviously top your smoothie with anything you like but after this, we really recommend giving chopped pistachio a go. Get the original recipe here.
5. HEALTHY SMOOTHIE ICE LOLLIES
When we saw ‘healthy’ and ‘ice lollies’ in the same sentence we knew we had to make them. Extremely refreshing and a cheeky breakfast idea for a hot day. The recipe only made 4, so there was a bit of a fight in the studio over them. Our advice is: Make more! Get the original recipe here.
6. BLUEBERRY & AVOCADO SMOOTHIE
Out of all of them, we struggled with this recipe a little. Some feedback would be to alter the balance of avocado and nut butter to still get that beautiful, rich, purple flavour. Ours was a little dark! Great flavours however, especially when topped with chocolate! Get the original recipe here.
If you’re reading this and want us to make one of YOUR recipes we’re planning on making BREAD next so get uploading to Sorted food (sign up via the homepage). If you’re one of the recipe creators- THANK YOU! They were all great and it’s a pleasure hosting them on our site. Keep uploading more. OK?
