Smokey BBQ Beans and Jacket

During dark winter evenings there is nothing more comforting that a Jacket Potato with crispy golden skin, a steaming fluffy inside and lashings of topping. This is SORTED's answer to exactly that... cooked outside beside the fire.

preheat the oven to 190°C.
grab the potatoes, prick with a fork all over, roll in oil and season.
bake for 90 minutes, or until a table knife glides right through without resistance.
wrap in tin foil when ready to keep warm and take outside (optional)
cut the gammon into bite-size chunks and fry in a dry pan until golden.
tip in the beans and their juices.
splash in the BBQ sauce and Tabasco, then heat through.
slice the spring onions finely and add to the beans just before serving.
cut open the jacket potato and smother in beans.
sprinkle with cheese and serve with a beer or drink of choice.

  • 4 jacket potatoes, King Edward are perfect
  • 1 gammon steak (250g)
  • 2 tinned of baked beans
  • 2 squeezes of BBQ sauce
  • splash of Tabasco
  • few spring onions
  • handful of cheese, grated
